You have all heard of Plastic Free July; we have been planning this post for a few months now so we can get the right brands in front of our audience and followers. Brands that would appeal to Busy parents like you all!
We have items ranging from coffee cups and lunch bags to shampoo bars and herbal tea. Going plastic free isn’t easy, especially when you are a busy mum or dad; but lists like this make it much easier to make simple swaps in a cost effective way.
Reusable coffee cup
I have been on the lookout for a coffee cup that suited me and I wanted to be seen. This cup from Wakecup fit the bill perfectly. The coffee cup holds a decent amount at 420ml and it is definitely one that I’m proud to take out with me to be refilled throughout the day.
This reusable coffee cup is £19 which I think is a decent price for a lovely looking, eco friendly product.
Wakecup are very eco friendly and care for the environment as a brand overall. I’ve also added their glass tea infuser bottle below; but they also stock lots more! See below for more info.
Reusable glass bottle
This glass bottle is another item from Wakecup. This bottle comes with a filter so you can add fruit in the bottle and not get any of the bits; there is also a tea infuser included! The glass bottle can withstand both hot and cold drinks and the opening at the top is wide enough to add proper chunks of fruit into it.
The bottle itself is double walled and is dishwasher friendly. The glass tea infuser is priced at
Like I previously stated above, Wakecup stock many eco friendly items including; bags, mugs, bottles, wallets, straws, and one off products that are limited edition.
Bluerock specialise in bamboo toothbrushes for adults and children. They feature medium-soft bristles and feature a wavy handle design. Bluerock supply these toothbrushes on a subscription service which you can request to be sent however often you like.
The toothbrushes are sent in eco friendly packaging which is fully recyclable and are able to be posted through your letterbox.
The toothbrushes are £3.95 each or 4 for £15 and run on either a ‘order when you need’, monthly or annually subscription.
Lunch bag, ice pack and bamboo spork
Brighton Frog have kindly sent over a lunchtime plastic free pack to show that you can still remain plastic free and eco friendly over your dinner.
First we have the ice pack, which comes with a washing machine friendly cover and is made by U Konserve. It is made from recycled bottles therefore helps the environment in two ways! The pack is on offer at the moment from Brighton Frog for £9!
Secondly we have the insulated lunch bag. The lunch bag is made by Keep Leaf and can again be machine washed. We have machine washed this lunch bag after a chocolate melting episode and it cleaned incredibly well. The lunch bag is made from cotton and has a Velcro fastening; currently on offer from Brighton Frog for just £13.50.
Lastly, a bambu spork. Everyone needs a decent spork for lunch time, so instead of reaching for a plastic one, grab a bamboo eco friendly version. The spork is also dishwasher safe which is a time saver when you have a whole family using them! Without the cork pouch, the spork is priced at £3, with the pouch £8.50.
Next up we have a safety razor; it might not seem so eco friendly when you first think of a razor but this is one that you could keep forever. No more disposable razors going into landfill and all you have to buy are the razor blades.
I haven’t used this yet but I have been told that they provide a really close shave. They are a fab alternative to the horrible flimsy plastic razors. Bambaw are selling these for £19.81 which is an absolute bargain!
Handmade and eco friendly washcloth, candle and soap
This gift box by Soap Daze smells absolutely amazing! You can smell the products before you even open the box. In the gift box we have a lemongrass patchouli Soap, a soy candle, and a hand knitted facecloth.
The facecloth feels so much better on the skin than a standard flannel, it feels soft and knowing that it is eco friendly too is a bonus! The candle sends an aroma throughout the house which smells beautiful; I love lemon at the best of times so this soy candle was matched perfectly for me. The Soap is another amazing product, we have had Soap Daze soap on a rope before which I still use now each time I shower because my skin feels amazing afterwards.
The gift box is being sold for £21.50 and Soap Daze actually offer free delivery on orders over £25. This would be great as a gift for that person who is super hard to buy for or could be a little treat for yourself!

Reusable bamboo straws
I’m a sucker for a reusable straw, especially when it’s made from bamboo. Jungle Straws are handmade in Vietnam and they offer plastic free shipping worldwide. These straws are ethically cultivated and crafted with pride.

Prices start from £1 and they sell; their bamboo jungle straws in various sizes, jute bags for easily keeping in your handbag, coconut fibre cleaning brushes, cups, razors, toothbrushes and stainless steel straws.
Reusable cotton cleansers
I have been looking for some really pretty cotton cleansers to apply my moisturisers, toners, cleansers etc for some time now. These cotton cleansers by The Lydia Tree are just amazing. They work so much better than buying disposable cotton pads and obviously they are reusable. The cleansers are so much softer on the skin and the colours are lovely.
The Lydia Tree sell these cotton cleansers in a range of colours, or you can request a custom order! Did I mention that it’s free delivery?! It’s £4.99 for 4 cleansers or £7.99 for 8! I think that this is extremely good value for money!
Wukawear are a brand that are bothered about the environment and what disposable sanitary towels and tampons do in regards of waste to the planet. Wukawear have developed underwear which serves as period pants. The only thing that you will ever need whilst on your period; they sell them for a range of sizes from tweens to adults and different variations depending on how heavy your period is.
Wukawear sell their pants individually or as packs; they start at £23.99 per pair and they also sell bralettes that are soft and wire free. From each bralette sold, Wukawear donate £1 to the Coppafeel breast cancer awareness campaign. Did I mention that Wukawear are also Vegan Approved!
Bamboo and wheat fibre kids plates
These plates were sent to us by Nature Babes; they are made from bamboo and wheat fibre and they are dishwasher safe!
These plates are advertised on their website as baby plates, but I beg to differ; these plates are perfect for Mylo who is our fussy eater of the family. Mylo doesn’t like his food touching and he is also very very picky. All 3 of my boys are really enjoying using these plates and they work with so many food combinations; breakfast, picnic style lunches, salads, desserts, etc.
These plates are selling for $16.66 on Nature Babes; they are in New Zealand so bare that in mind when you are ordering. Nature Babes also sell more eco-friendly products such as; bags, changing mats, various designs of plates and bowls, bibs, cutlery, wooden wall decor and toys, the list honestly goes on!
Did you know that Sansaar means world in Nepalese? Me neither!
Sansaar are incredibly eco-friendly, their website have a huge range of products that are safe for the environment including; skincare, make up, dental care, kitchen, feminine care, on the go, plastic free, bath and shower and lastly gifts!
These toothpaste tablets contain fluoride and have a lovely minty flavour. All that you do is chew one of the tablets until it goes creamy, wet your toothbrush and then brush your teeth as normal! The metal tin that they come in is reusable and you can buy the tablets as a 1 month supply or as a 125 tablet pack.
The 1 month supply as pictured costs £2.99; the 125 pack costs £5.50.
This is another product from Sansaar; it might be something that you have seen a lot of people switch to. Shampoo bars are really doing their rounds at the moment, for all the right reasons. There’s no plastic involved and the cardboard box that they come in are fully recyclable.
The shampoo bar is fully paraben, plastic, SLS, SLES, and palm oil free! To use it all you have to do is lather it up and apply the suds to your hair.
The shampoo bars start at £2.60 like this one and they also have conditioner bars available too.
Plastic free loose tea leaves
Last but not least we have loose tea leaves by Herbaceous Blends. Herbaceous Blends specialise in caffeine free herbal teas, and they come in completely plastic free packaging. The tins hold 30g of loose tea leaves which makes approximately 30 cups of tea.
