My name is Jade; my family includes four small and messy humans who are my beautiful boys Leo, Mylo and Nico, and gorgeous daughter Indie. My sons were born October 2013, October 2015 and November 2017; with Indie making her debut in August 2019; I am a baby-wearing, co-sleeping, breastfeeding, child-led, home-educating mummy.
We live in Manchester UK and I’ve worked with children for 14+ years now, in nurseries, schools and children’s centres; and I’ve been a childminder, nanny and freelance writer. I have a first class BA(hons) degree in Early Years where I specialise in the area of messy play and child development.
Through the years I have met many parents who cringe at the thought of messy play and that was the basis behind the Raw Childhood blog; getting back to the roots of childhood, getting dirty and messy and learning through play; and showing that there are opportunities to learn everywhere.
