Games for children are everywhere, they come in all shapes, sizes and styles. It always helps when there are reviews so you can hear someone’s else’s opinion before you buy.
Penguin Pile Up
Penguin pile up is a simple and quick game that you will just play over and over. The rules are straight forward and easy for little ones to understand. Even though it says age 4+, Mylo who’s 3 picked it up quickly. It’s made by Ravensburger so I knew the quality would be good; we’ve got quite a few Ravensburger games and they never disappoint.
The game comes with the base, the iceberg, penguins and an extra little cardboard piece that you slot under the iceberg to make it easier for younger children. That extra piece really did help for Mylo to get involved; it meant that the iceberg didn’t wobble as much.
I would say playing time is between 5 and 15 minutes; so it is a great game to squeeze in when you have a spare 5 minutes! There’s always time to squeeze a bit more fun into the day, don’t you agree?
How this game aids child development
This game in particular has a lot of positives when it comes to child development. I always try to remind parents that play isn’t ‘just play’; it’s how they learn, develop and gain skills that will be with them for the rest of their lives. This game aids:
- Fine motor skills
- Hand eye coordination
- Social development
- Understanding of the world
