It’s so important to look after your skin during pregnancy. With all the hormones raging you will find that your skin will either glow like there’s no tomorrow or you will completely break out and your skin will become quite sensitive.
I’ve personally never experienced ‘the glow’ and think it’s just a myth like the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy. My skin is a bit of the sensitive side without pregnancy so I have to be a bit more careful what I put on my skin when I’m pregnant.
Changes to your immune system and circulation, and changes in the levels of hormones in your body can all have an effect on your skin during pregnancy. There is some good news though, most of the changes clear up after the baby is born
With your skin during pregnancy you may find that you develop:
Pigmentation (changes to your skin colour)
Spots and/or acne (I know about this one)
Sensitive or itchy skin (definitely know about this one!)

What I thought
The gel hydratant didn’t have much of a smell but it went on my skin lovely. It felt soft and it was a bit thicker than the moisturising lotion. My skin definitely felt hydrated after I used this product. I also tried this product just on its own to see how it felt throughout the day. So I didn’t put any make up on and left all other products to one side. My skin still felt fresh and well hydrated at the end of the day.
What I noticed about the moisturising lotion is that it doesn’t really have a smell, just like the gel. If anything it smells just like a standard plain lotion with no fragrance added. This can be a plus because I know that there aren’t any added ingredients that my skin could react to. However, I do like a little fragrance with my skincare products. The lotion is more on the creamier side and soaks into the skin quite well. I did find that it made my eyelids sting a little when I applied it which made me a bit dubious about trying it again.
I did try the product again and it still had a slight uncomfortable feeling when using it near my eyes. I thought this was a bit of a shame because I really wanted to use this product more. Now when I use it I just make sure to not go near my more sensitive areas on my face, that worked a lot better.
The cleanser worked really well. It removed all of my make up with ease and felt lovely on my skin. Like the hydrating gel, this cleanser made my skin feel quite refreshed. I actually like using this product in the morning because I feel like it wakes me up a bit more and makes me feel ready to take on the day! This is something I will definitely carry on using on my skin during pregnancy.
