Welcome to our community on Instagram! I love Instagram and I love seeing all of your photos in the roundup!
The #rawchildhood community on Instagram is for you to link up any child related photos!
We now have over 4.3k link ups!
I am looking for those raw childhood moments; with or without filters; children enjoying the rain and mud; exploring with food and colours.. I am also looking for those raw moments when you think “should I really post this?” YES! post that picture of your child on the floor in Tesco because you wouldn’t buy a surprise egg or when your child is pulling the death stare.. I love those photos! It’s your child’s personality, let’s celebrate it!
I guess what I am trying to say is let’s get back to basics. The raw childhood!
Let’s all try to be a great little community! Follow each other, make friends and share! #rawchildhood
I will be picking my favourite posts for the month and doing my roundup; these will then get shared across my social media accounts!
Here are my favourites from last month:
Leaf creature crafts
??L.E.A.F C.R.E.A.T.U.R.E.S ?? What am absolutely glorious day ? we are having ourselves today. The weather is spectacular ☉? and exactly the opposite ? of how it was last week when we were out picking leaves to make this fab leaf ? creature craft. I am pretty sure though it will rain ☔ again soon so why not grab some dry leaves today and then check out the #littlemakes post over on the blog now for how to make these fun chaps the net time you are stuck indoors! ?
How cute are these though?! I absolutely love these little leaf creatures! This is such an easy craft to do and it looks like he’s had lots of fun making them. This picture is by @Oneofeachandmine, make sure you check out their Instagram as they run their own little community too which I am a part of called #littlemakes!
Beautiful wild art
I love anything that encourages children to be outside, and this is just amazing! @thereallarashoe has done a fab job here, and doesn’t her little one look so chuffed too! We will be trying this out after the baby has come for sure!
Raise awareness for adoption!
This week is it National Adoption Awareness Week #AdoptionAwareness Adoption is a truly special thing, and in recent years I have observed just how much joy and happiness it can bring ? The adoption process is a long road, and it isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it all. The focus of this year’s campaign is keeping siblings together. Did you know that more than 50% of the children in the UK care system are siblings looking for their forever home. I am extremely close to my own sister and couldn’t imagine not growing up with her. And I look at my two babies and feel sad at the thought of them being separated. Every adoption is important, but the focus of this year’s campaign is an important one. #lovemysister #lovemybrother ?Help raise awareness: Post a photo of yourself on your social media like we have to spread the message this week. Adoption is subject that doesn’t get spoken about much and it is so important to raise awareness of it whenever we can. If I had the space in my home then it would certainly be something that we would consider. We have spoken about it before, but at this moment it isn’t the right time in our family life to introduce a child from the care system. @fivelittlestars05 has it spot on, siblings are very hard to place with permanent adoptive parents and I could never imagine my boys ever being split up. Let’s raise awareness together!
i was going to set up this sensory exploration tray while she napped but seeing as a nap looked more and more unlikely, waiting seemed pointless #invitationtoplay #playbasedlearning #imaginativeplay #ediblelearning #letthembelittle #outdoorplay #cornflakes #sahm #sensoryplay #sensorybin #messyplay #earlychilhood #mumlife #toddler #rawchildhood #childhoodunplugged #screenfreekids #screenfreechallenge @kinderlingradio
I love anything sensory and messy, so this exploration tray is perfect for children’s development. People often think that messy play is just mess but the benefits to it are endless! I love this one by @katerls!
The real mummy life
Let me tell you something about this little team of mine. This team that this morning I professed to be a ‘good’ one. Well today, whilst mildly (massively) hungover, we braved soft play where, for the first time in almost 12 months of being potty trained, my daughter shit herself. I had no spare clothes, why would I? I washed her trousers in the sink and spent 20 minutes drying them under the dryer whilst mums came in and out with the sympathetic/slightly judge eye and my daughter stood bare bummed. The shame. We left the house in British summer time but left soft play in full blown winter and raced the rain clouds home. We lost. The boy refused to nap. We lost George Pig who remains un-located and left the boy completely devo at bed time. Upon said bed time the girl professed her eyes, ears, elbow, face, leg and hair hurt. How do you stop hair hurting. I am done. I am going to bed because we’re going to Thomas Land tomorrow ??
This picture by @tammymumuk sums up mum life perfectly. We all have rubbish days but we also have good days. The picture itself is just adorable isn’t it, she has some serious stunners! Let’s hope for some better days, because we all know as a parent that the good days far outweigh the bad, but we are all normal and all have these days.. Even if we don’t admit it on social media!
Every child should be able to get dirty
I completely and utterly agree with this caption on so many levels! Children should have the opportunity to get dirty, messy and truly experiment throughout their early years! The photo is just the cutest too isn’t it! @topsyturvytribe have some beautiful photo’s on their Instagram so make sure you check them out.
Nakey time wins every time!

Leo was never one for wanting to strip off when he was little, but now he’s four he loves running round the house naked! Mylo too, loves being naked! Nakey time definitely wins every time doesn’t it, and look at little albie’s face, he’s so happy! Perfect photo by @all.about.albie.
Story of our lives

People often wonder what it’s like to be a parent, and I think this picture by @smiley_daisydoo sums it up! Who knew toddlers could make that much mess ey? But who could be mad at that innocent little face? These are the sorts of photo’s where you think “should I post this?”, yes! Yes you definitely should under the #rawchildhood tag because I love seeing these, it makes us all feel normal doesn’t it. Where’s the fun in a perfect photo?
I would love for you to join my community and help it grow even more!
Let’s celebrate our children whilst they are still children!
I will see you all again next month.
