I was quite lucky this year, Leo told me exactly what I wanted so I got those and threw in a few others for good measure. Leo is at an age now where he knows what he likes and isn’t afraid to ask for it. I prefer it that way, then I know that I am buying him what he will actually play with!
Here I have got a list for you which I think your 4 year olds might appreciate. These are some top gifts for this year, and can even be added to christmas lists as well as birthdays!
Hats of Faith book
This is an absolutely lovely book and I’m so glad to have come across it. How many times have your children asked “what is that on that person’s head?” Well this book explains it in simple language that children can understand!
Considering that this blog and website focuses on child development I think that this is a great resource to have with young children and think it should be something that is accessible within schools and nurseries for the younger age bracket too.
The hats of faith book retails at £8.99 and you can find it here.
It’s always great to get a couple of craft activity gifts as part of the birthday bundle isn’t it. Something that can be instantly used and take up less storage space. This can easily be turned into an all afternoon activity if you are including gluing and sticking into the equation as well as the colouring element.
The boxhead craft retails at £8 or you can buy two for £14 and you can find them here.
Now this is a perfect gift for any superhero fan! Leo is crazy on heroes so this fit his personality perfectly.
The light is wireless and doesn’t need to be plugged in which is a big bonus when it comes to children’s bedrooms. The last thing we want are wires hanging down for the children to pull! The light is 26cm wide and 19cm high which is a great size for a boys bedroom wall.
Both Leo and Mylo love this light, and for £14.99 at the moment you can’t go wrong. You can buy this superman light here.
Make your own chocolate pizza kit
As you all already know, we love getting messy in our house and don’t shy away from these kind of activities.
The chocolate pizza kit is a fab idea because the children get to add as much or as little toppings as they want and are in full control of the chocolate pizza making!
The kit comes with:
1 bag of chocolate milk buttons
1 bag of white chocolate curls
1 bag of jellybeans
1 bag of rainbow drops
The kit retails at £11.99 which I think is a great deal for an activity that will keep your little ones busy whilst making, and then devouring their masterpiece!
You can find the kit here.
We will be vlogging this over on our YouTube channel soon, I will put the link in here when it has gone live!
Tin Game Collection
We spend our lives as parents looking for quick activities to do with the children that don’t cost a fortune and will also be educational!
This tin game collection comes with 3 games to keep the children busy! Included in the collection is:
Cheese hunt game
Balancing tower tin game
All of these toys hold education value, whether it’s counting, balancing or number recognition there is always time for learning!
You can find the set here and it only costs £9.98 at the moment.
We will be doing a vlog of us using these games very soon so keep an eye on our YouTube channel and I will post the link here too once we’ve done it.
We don’t have a lot of wooden games for the boys apart from the traditional train track and musical instruments so this game is a welcome addition in our house. Nothing beats a good wooden game because you know that it is going to last and not break at the first sight of children.
We have really enjoyed playing this game, just be careful to not lose any of the bricks! The wobbling wall comes in at £14.99 which is a fab price I think for a good quality game that can be played time and time again. You can find the wobbling wall here. Unfortunately Leo won against me multiple times, it seems that he is a natural at this game!
Melt and make a chocolate house kit
If any of you have tried making a gingerbread house at Christmas you will understand the struggle of making an object out of food. However, this set includes:
White chocolate buttons
Milk chocolate buttons
Paper chefs hat
Moulds for the houses and trees
Garden scene to colour in
You can buy this set from What2buy4kids.
We will also vlog this on our YouTube channel at some point too as soon as we are back down to reality now the boys birthdays are over.
My Gecko Box
If you are a regular reader of our blog then you know that we love crafts and love messy play. When My Gecko Box said that they would like to be part of this feature we were over the moon because it is what we love to do!
There is nothing easier than getting a box of crafts delivered straight to your door, especially if you haven’t got a craft cupboard like ours!
My Gecko Box sent us two boxes; the smaller one has enough for 2 crafts and the larger one is 5 crafts.
My Gecko Box have lots of different choices available and I guarantee that you will find one to suit your little one; you will probably be spoilt for choice like we were!
We can’t help but do an additional vlog for these boxes so this will be done shortly on our YouTube channel!
Here is our vlog of the 4 year old gift ideas too!
